In my Fall Semester of 2017, I took Intermediate Composition course online. As a cumulative project and reflection upon our work, we are required to revise and display our writings. In the space below, I will briefly introduce myself and my written work.
My name is Jessica Hobart and I'm a third year Health Sciences student at the University of Cincinnati. After graduation, I hope to attend graduate school and earn my Doctor of Physical Therapy and work as a physical therapist. I grew up in a suburb of Cincinnati with two wonderful parents and a twin brother. I've always enjoyed trips to the Cincinnati library and reading for pleasure in my free time. In addition to reading, I enjoy running, spending time outside with friends and family, doing the New York Times crossword, and petting my cat, Mira. I took Intermediate Composition (ENGL2089) as a required part of my curriculum, but it became a class that I surprisingly enjoyed.
Instead of one long cumulative paper at the end of the semester, the class included several shorter works that were due throughout the semester. Towards the beginning, we chose a social issue as a topic we would focus on in our writings. I chose the recent decision of the Board of Trustees of the Public Library of Cincinnati Hamilton County to potentially close and sell the North building of the Main Branch of the Cincinnati Public Library. This local issue was one I could easily become passionate about and stick with the entire semester.
Please explore the tabs above, my work is categorized into the topics of Myself, The Academy, and In Action.
